![]() I’d like to thank everyone for following the blog this weekend and for supporting Ohio State Hockey. We have to wake up pretty early tomorrow to catch our flight back to Columbus. Guys were really excited and happy to get that first win and hopefully carry that momentum into next weekend. It’s always hard to lose when your goalie pitches a shutout. Cal Heeter played great tonight getting his first shutout of the season. Again in the third we found the back of the net to go up 4- 0 and that’s the way the game would end. The second period was scoreless for both teams. We looked a lot sounder than we were last night. We got off to a really strong start, scoring three goals in the first period. Everyone seemed focused and ready to go and it was evident in the game. After lunch most guys went back to their rooms and took a nap or just relaxed and stayed off their feet. We also had sandwich meat if guys wanted to have something for before the game. Lunch was the normal salad, pasta and chicken. It’s really beneficial to be able to watch film on yourself to see what things you need to correct. We showed up to lunch a little early to watch film of last night’s game and go over some things we can improve on. ![]() Instead of having a pregame skate this morning we went for a walk outside to help flush out our legs. It was good to sleep in a little because everyone was a little tired from last night’s game. Today we woke up at 9:45 and had breakfast. The team is taking on Quinnipiac to open the year. Sophomore Paul Kirtland checks in from the Buckeyes’ first road trip of the season.
